Lithuania’s insurance market totalled EUR 1.73bn in terms of premiums written in 2025, which was up 9.2% from 2024, according to data from the Bank of Lithuania, Baltic News reports. Non-life insurance premiums amounted to EUR 1.339bn (up 10.2%) and life insurance premiums to EUR 391mn (up 5.7%). Insurers paid a total of EUR 927mn in claims in 2025, which was up 4.7% from a year earlier. Non-life insurance claims rose by 4.6% to EUR 711mn and life insurance claims by 4.8% to EUR 216mn. Insurance companies made a combined annual profit of EUR 101.mn, which was up 9.8% from 2024. All insurance companies were profitable. However, while non-life insurers increased their total profit by 23.2% to EUR 72.6mn, life insurers saw their profit decline by 13.9% to EUR 28.5mn. Insurance brokers made a combined profit of EUR 22.4mn (up 6%) on sales revenue of EUR 135.8mn (up 15%) in 2025.
