The share of people living in households with dependent children who were at risk of poverty or social exclusion (AROPE) in the Baltic States was highest in Lithuania in 2025, Eurostat reported. The AROPE rate for people living in households with dependent children stood at 18.3% in Lithuania in 2025, which was down from 20.9% in 2024. The corresponding AROPE rate was 17.0% (14.9%) in Estonia and 16.4% (17.2%) in Latvia. The EU average was 22.1% (21.9%). Meanwhile, the AROPE rate for households with no children was 33.4% (32.3%) in Latvia, which was the highest in the entire EU. The corresponding figure was 32.2% (29.8%) in Lithuania and 27.2% (29.9%) in Estonia. The EU average was 19.8% (20.0%).
