Estonia’s main opposition party, conservative Fatherland (Isamaa), remains the country’s most popular political party, according to Norstat’s latest poll for the Institute for Societal Research (YI), ERR reports. Fatherland had 28.3% support among voters in the poll taken over August-September 2024, which was largely unchanged from the previous poll three weeks earlier.
The ruling Estonian Reform Party came in second with 19.6%, which was also almost unchanged. Reform’s coalition partner, the Social Democratic Party (SDE), was third with 14.5%, which was down 3.2 percentage points. Support for the opposition Estonian Centre Party (Keskerakond) stood at 12.2%, which was unchanged. The Conservative People’s Party of Estonia (EKRE) also had 12.2% support, which was down 1 percentage point.
The opposition Right-Wingers (Parempoolsed) has 4.4% support, followed by junior coalition partner Estonia 200 with 4.0%, Estonian Nationalists and Conservatives (ERK) with 1.9%, Estonian Greens (EER) with 1.2%, and pro-Russian KOOS with 1.2%. The three parties in the current coalition government together have 38.1% support, while opposition parties have 52.7% support.
Meanwhile, a Turu-Uuringute poll showed that Fatherland’s support stood at 23% in September 2024, which was down from 25% in August 2024, ERR reported. Reform came in second with 18% (17%), followed by SDE with 16% (17%), Keskerakond with 13% (12%), and EKRE with 12% (11%). Estonia 200’s support was at 6%, which was up from 3%. Support for Parempoolsed was 6%, followed by ERK with 3%, EER with 1%, and KOOS with 1% as well.
