The Estonian government has decided not to privatise four state-owned energy, real estate, digital services, and lottery firms, ERR reports. The decision applies to four state-owned enterprises controlled by the Ministry of Finance: energy group Eesti Energia, state real estate manager Riigi Kinnisvara Aktsiaselts (RKAS), digital services company Levira, and lottery operator Eesti Loto. The Ministry of Finance stressed that Eesti Energia’s energy supplies supported the sustainability of the Estonian economy, while state ownership of RKAS ensured the prudent and efficient management of state real estate property. State ownership of Levira, which operates Estonia’s broadcasting and transmission infrastructure, was important due to the company’s strategic importance for national security, the ministry stated. Finally, Eesti Loto contributes to the development of sports and culture, the ministry explained.
