Lithuania: Government disapproval at 74% in April 2026: poll

An overwhelming majority of Lithuanians are dissatisfied with the performance of Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene’s government, according to a Spinter Tyrimai poll for DELFI, ELTA reports. The survey showed that 74.2% of respondents disapproved of the government’s work in April 2026, which was up from 71.2% a month earlier. Only 17.5% viewed the government’s performance positively, which was down from 18.4% in March 2026. Another 8.3% (10.4%) did not respond. Meanwhile, another Spinter Tyrimai poll showed that former prime minister Ingrida Simonyte is by far the most popular politician to lead the government, ELTA reported. The survey showed that 16.8% of respondents regarded Simonyte as the most suitable person for prime minister in April 2026, which was up from 15.3% a month earlier. Ruginiene was only named by 3.5% of respondents, which was down sharply from 7.5% in March 2026.
