Estonia: Two thirds disapprove of government: poll

Two thirds of Estonian voters disapprove of the government’s performance, according to a new Norstat poll in May 2026, ERR reports. In the survey, 67% of respondents said that the government was performing poorly, while 27% found that the government was doing its job well. The government’s approval rating was unchanged from April 2026. Support for the two coalition parties stood at 14.2%, compared to 75% for the four opposition parties, taken together. Meanwhile, 63% (65%) of respondents disapproved and 21% (19%) approved of Prime Minister Kristen Michal’s job performance, the poll showed.

Another poll conducted by Emor showed that Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur remained Estonia’s most trusted minister in May 2026, ERR reports. Altogether 28% of respondents expressed trust in Pevkur. Trust in both Social Affairs Minister Karmen Joller and Culture Minister Heidy Purga stood at 19%, followed by Finance Minister Jürgen Ligi with 16%, Education Minister Kristina Kallas and Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna both with 14%, and Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Interior Minister Igor Taro both with 13%. Trust in all of the remaining ministers was below 10%, according to Emor’s survey.
