Latvia: Backing for all parties still below 10%: poll

All political groups in Latvia had less than 10% support among voters in April-May 2026, according to a new SKDS poll, LSM reported. The right-wing populist opposition party, Latvia First (LPV), was ahead with 9.3% support, which was up from 8.9% in March 2026. The social-democratic Progressives came in second with 7.8% (6.9%), followed by the United List with 6.8% (6.0%) and the non-parliamentary populist party, Sovereign Power, with 6.2% (6.2%). Support for outgoing Prime Minister Evika Silina’s party alliance, New Unity, stood at 5.9% (5.9%), followed by its current coalition partner, the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS), with 5.6% (4.7%) and the opposition National Alliance with 4.4% (6.4%). The non-parliamentary protest party, We Change the Rules (MMN), had 3.3% (2.1%) support, while support for the pro-Russian For Stability stood at 2.6% (2.7%). Meanwhile, as many as 27.7% of respondents did not know which party to vote for and 13.2% said that they did not intend to vote at all. Latvia has a 5% electoral threshold in parliamentary elections.
