NATO has the means to destroy air defence and missile bases in Russia’s Kaliningrad region, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated, BNS reported. Speaking in an interview with Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Budrys said that “we must show the Russians that we can penetrate the small fortress they have built in Kaliningrad,” LETA reported. Also, he asserted that Russia was deliberately redirecting Ukrainian drones into Baltic airspace. In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Budrys of making a direct call to attack a sovereign country and undermine European stability. Earlier, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claimed that Ukraine was planning to attack Russia from Baltic territory. Meanwhile, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene said that there was no information indicating that drones were being directed to Lithuania. She urged to refrain from sharper statements and to “use the rhetoric of deterrence rather than escalation.”
