Latvia’s foreign trade turnover totalled EUR 23.26bn at current prices in the first seven months of 2023, which was EUR 1.52bn (6.1%) less than in the same period of 2023, according to the Central Statistical Bureau’s (CSP) provisional data, LSM reports. Exports of goods amounted to EUR 10.7bn (down 4%) and imports to EUR 12.56bn (down 7.9%). In July 2024 alone, Latvia’s foreign trade totalled EUR 3.43bn, which was up 8.1% over a year. Exports stood at EUR 1.46bn (up 6.5%) and imports at EUR 1.97bn (up 9.3%). However, according to calendar and seasonally adjusted data, exports declined by 1% and imports by 0.5% over a year. Latvia’s main export markets were Lithuania (19.2%), Estonia (12.1%), Germany (6.8%), and Russia (6%), while the main sources of imports were Lithuania (22.7%), Germany (11.2%), Poland (10.7%), and Estonia (8.2%).
