Latvia: Most Latvians think quality of life went down in 2024: survey

Most Latvians think that the quality of life in Latvia became worse in 2024, according to a new SKDS poll for LTV, LSM reports. The survey showed that 30.3% of Latvian residents believed that the quality of life deteriorated slightly in 2024, while 11.7% said that the quality of life worsened significantly compared to 2023. Meanwhile, 14.3% of residents thought that the quality of life had improved slightly and 1.1% that the quality of life had improved significantly. Another 39.2% of respondents said that the quality of life in Latvia had not changed, while 3.4% could not say. Residents of the Latvian capital, Riga, were markedly more positive about the quality of life in Latvia than residents of other cities and rural areas. SKDS polled altogether 1,003 Latvian residents in early December 2024.
