Latvia: Passenger traffic by land, sea up in 2025

Passenger traffic by land and sea transport increased in Latvia in 2025, according to the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP), LSM reported. The number of passengers on land transport totalled 192.4 million in 2025, which was up 0.6% from 191.2 million in 2024. The number of passengers on regular bus lines amounted to 97.6 million (down 3.3%), on trolleybuses to 40.1 million (up 1.3%), on trams to 33.3 million (up 6.7%), and on trains to 21.4 million (up 9.7%). Meanwhile, the number of passengers on sea ferries rose by 2.6% over a year. Riga International Airport served a total of 7.1 million passengers in 2025, which was unchanged from 2024.
