Three parliamentary groups in Lithuania will sign an agreement on forming a new coalition government on 18 June 2026, BNS reports. The coalition will consist of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP), the Union of Democrats for Lithuania (DSVL), and the joint parliamentary group of the Lithuanian Union of Farmers and Greens (LVZS) and the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (LLRA). LSDP leader Mindaugas Sinkevicius will become prime minister, replacing LSDP’s Inga Ruginiene, whose government will resign on 23 June 2026. LSDP will have nine ministers in charge of culture, defence, education and science, environment, finance, foreign affairs, internal affairs, social security and labour, and transport. DSVL will hold the ministerial portfolios for agriculture, energy, and health, while the LVZS/LLRA group will have two ministers responsible for economy and justice.
