Lithuania’s ruling Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP) has begun official talks with the opposition Union of Democrats for Lithuania (DSVL) and the Lithuanian Union of Farmers and Greens (LVZS) on forming a new coalition government, ELTA reports. LSDP chairman Mindaugas Sinkevicius met with DSVL leader, MEP Virginijus Sinkevicius, and LVZS leader, MEP Aurelijus Veryga, in Brussels on 9 June 2026. LSDP’s Sinkevicius confirmed that the government programme would change. However, there was no agreement yet on the division of ministerial responsibilities between the three parties, he said.
