Latvia’s national airline, airBaltic, will reduce flights from Lithuania in winter 2026/2027, BNS reports. The company will suspend flights from Vilnius to Berlin and Dubai, and from Palanga to Tenerife. Also, airBaltic will have less flights from Vilnius to Tallinn. Edvards Dalderis, spokesman of airBaltic, insisted that the reductions were not related to the company’s financial difficulties, but would better match capacity with expected winter travel demand, BNS reported. He assured that airBaltic remained “fully committed” to the Lithuanian market and would continue expanding flights from Vilnius. According to Lithuania’s airport operator, Lietuvos Oro Uostai, airBaltic had indicated that it did not plan any further changes to its winter flight schedule from Lithuania. Transport Minister Juras Taminskas said earlier that any capacity vacated by airBaltic would likely be filled quickly by other airlines, BNS reported. At the moment, airBaltic operates 20 direct routes from Vilnius and 2 from Palanga.
